There comes a time when writing stops being fun.  It is called the  revision stage.   I have posted parts of  Swords or Sweetbread as I have created it to show how a story progresses.  It is now in that cut this, move it there, and dump that piece in the wastbasket stage.   It is actually painful sometimes to realize you have created something hidious and some how you have to make it beautiful or put it out of its misery.
